Dr. Dwight Lundell, M.D.
Dr. Lundell is a board certified cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon. He practiced for 25 years, preforming more than 5,000 open-heart surgeries. He has been listed in Phoenix Magazine’s Top Doctors for 10 years. As a leader in his field, Dr. Lundell has consulted for a variety of leading medical device companies. IN 2005, Dr. Lundell recognized that heart disease was largely preventable and the focus on cholesterol was misguided. He has published two books on heart health. He is an avid triathlete and also introduced us to the heart healthy coffee we sell here at Sassafras.
Dr. Russell DesMarais, DC, DABCI, R.Ac
Dr. DesMarais opened Turtle Island Holistic Health Center in St. Paul in 1977. this was the first integrated alternative natural healing center in the Midwest. Dr. DesMarais practices several health modalities including Oriental Medicine, Qi Gong, Acupuncture, Functional Medicine, Chiropractic, among othersHe has lectured worldwide and has treated thousands of patients. He currently practices at Beyond Chiropractic in Oakdale. Dr. DesMarais will be returning on February 17th to give a talk on thyroid health. Dr. Kim Lane, M.D.
Dr. Lane is a homeopath who is also a physician, board certified in Family Practice and Holistic Medicine. She left primary care practice to pursue Homeopathy and Wellness consultation in 2007. Her primary goal in health care is to empower her patients. Dr. Lane wrote a book titled Homeopathy for Home, Acute Illness, and Injury Care. Dr. Lane taught a class at Sassafras on Homeoprophalaxis for parents who want to use Homeopathy for their children instead of vaccinations.
Dr. Marita Schauch, N.D.
Dr. Schauch is an expert on woman’s health and, in addition to her clinical practice, she keeps a busy lecture schedule. She has recently released her book Making Sense of Woman’s Health. Dr. Schauch is also a woman”s health educator for Natural Factors.
Michael T. Murray, N.D.
Dr. Murray is one of the world’s leading authorities on natural medicine. He has published over 30 books featuring natural approaches to health. His research into the health benefits of proper nutrition is the foundation for a best-selling line of dietary supplements from Natural Factors, where he is Director of Product Development. He is a graduate, former faculty member, and serves on the Board of Regents of Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Murray will be returning in the spring.
